Panasonic's Blu-Ray writer
Great news. The technology no one wants is getting nearer. Blu-Ray -- which many observers are saying is equally as pointless as HD-DVD -- is nearly here. Panasonic's Blu-Ray writer will be out in June, for something stupid like $800 (not a joke price, that's the actual price).
But it won't play movies. That requires "special software" apparently. It's pointless. The future does not lie in discs designed to not work unless you've got the right kind of cable and TV.
