TXT Quiz of the day!

'Needed' is a great word to type on your phone in predictive text, as you get to press the 'def' key FIVE times in a row. So is 'common' as you get to press 'mno' five times too.

Can anyone think of a six-presser word?!

Nokia 6300 - not a prize

The prize on offer is the chance to see your suggestions printed up here on this page beneath this article in the Comments section!

My Nokia says 'Baccababa' is a word. Maybe it is in Finland, or wherever Nokia's from.

And 'Giggigiigi'

Well, my flaming Sony Erricsson has 'Heededededededededededededededed' as its longest word. After the initial cheeky 'H', thta's a thirty-oner. Sort of.

i still cant get higher than ten but i can type 'K1LL M3' with my eyes closed.

Well I haven't got any sixers, but I know that if you want to put 'going' you get to press 46464, which is a bit of fun..

The OED has "Mononomial", an expression consisting of one term only, for seven.

"Tut tut" for the Stephen Fry fans out there.

Biggighiigiighighiigiighighiigii according to my wonky Sony Ericsson. Another 'ghi' pushes things into "not in dictionary" territory :(

My particular favourite is the fact that it insists on suggesting 'aunt' when I don't mean my 'beloved aunt'

'Biggighiigiighighiigiighighiigii' and 'Nonmomoonm' are both in my Sony Ericssons T9 dictionary too. Perhaps they're real words, in some emerging market or other, where SE tout their wares.

Not all that relevantly, with my old phone (some sort of Sharp made affair from Vodafone), when entering the word 'coal' would suggest firstly 'cock' followed by 'anal' and *then* 'coal'.

Sadly my current Sony Ericsson offers 'coal' as the second suggestion after 'cock'. With 'anal' languishing in third place.

I suppose this suggests that Sony Ericsson are less gay than Sharp.

Although, having said that, I did hear a rumour somewhere (possibly on the interwebs) that some women like it 'in there' too! That can't be true can it?

'Suppresses' is worth an easy seven with the fewest total letters for the win. No dictionary cheating either.

"deeded" for six

Also, when Obi-Wan says "That's no moon," he's talking about a NONMOON.

This is the best game ever.

And fanny - I've heard similar rumours. I don't know whether laydezz do like it up the wrong 'un, but I'm sure as hell going to find out.

For science!

When people on idiottoys.com proudly proclaim that they "would, would, would, etc.", they are opening up major skeletons in their closets here---more specifically, that at least in their own fantasy worlds, they are NONMONOgamous heathens.

If I want to text my prog friend about Genesis songs I may well text him the word "Abacab", which is like a song by them actually, mmhm. And is a sixer. Yes. Or you going to go all COUNTDOWN and disallow it?

4:02 PM

Try pressing 4-6-4-6... repeatedly on a Sony Ericsson. I can't even be bothered to count how many that gets to before it decides it not 'spelling' something real any more.

Actually, I can.

It's 32.

Feederspspspssssssssssssssssssss - a 5-press followed by a 7-press in my Nokia T9 dictionary! This is a word used to describe a dribbling drunk person eating a kebab!

Soonedededededededededededededed - a 1-press followed by a 3-press followed by a 28-press!! This is when something happens really soon!!

Elklljjlljjlljjlljjlljjlljjlljjl - a 1-press followed by a 31-press!!! This is a mythical beast with 31 horns, each 6 feet long!!!

Wagamama - a good word for fast non-T9 typing.

For some reason, English and Finnish Nokia phones don't have even Helsinki in their T9 dictionary, only Helpinki, which is only the name of a Pinky & The Brain episode and nothing else.

'perverted' and 'requested' are the same keystrokes. I found out the bad way

The guy who said "suppresses" clearly doesn't know what "in a row" means.

It means in. a. row.

Can't think of a '6 presser' BUT if you type the phrase 'fancy getting food in the crown?' with predictive text turned on but without changing the words that the phone generates you may giggle a little bit... or not. Depends if you are as socially inept as meeee!

BlackBerry SureType (probably TM or something like that) is too grown up for this sort of thing - I pack a lot more into my day but don't giggle as much as I used to.

I'm as socially inept as anonymous!

Not that any of my various locals are called the crown. But! I have asked a lady, who I'd been in the process of getting to know, if she would be 'averse to receiving my balls'. Ho ho. I meant to say 'calls'!

Of course, the properly manly thing to do would've been to have just called without asking.

Boy did I learn my lesson . She never did receive my balls. The cow.
