CES 2008: CAMERA DAY: CASIO: EXILIM: EX-S10

10.1 megapixels. Three times optical zoom. No lifestyle photography. Comes in Cutting Yourself To Alleviate The Boredom Red.

Casio Exilim EX-S10

Even though it's camera day, this is the only camera we're doing something "about". Cameras are now officially all the same. Either that or we're just too old to tell the difference, like that time grandma thought Duran Duran was Frankie Goes To Hollywood and we had to have the mad old cow put in a home.

Now you look like the one who made an error for ALL OF ETERNITY, whereas mine was only on display for about 40 minutes.

Whoa! It's a con!

Look carefully at the labelling on the front - it's not 10 megapixels (as in 10 million pixels); it's 10 mega pixels.

You call ten great big pinkish blocks a photo? Pah!

I bought this new Casio Exilim EX-S10 Model as an upgrade to my older Casio model. I've only had it for three days now and so far I find the new features it offers as outstanding. It's a definite improvement especially taking pictures at dark situations. Pictures came out clear and crisp. Such a powerful point and shoot camera for the price. Battery life is great as well. The new slideshow modes and You Tube modes are excellent.

However, there are only two things I've noticed with this model:

1. Manual focusing is almost non-existent. It's difficult to take super close-ups without blurring the focus. But with practice, I'm sure I can make it work.

2. The added BEST SHOT modes are great but one thing I've noticed missing is the BEST SHOT COUPLING MODE. It will not be sorely missed but it's a best mode that casio should have retained.

It is definitely slim, but not frail. Very sturdy, compact and lightweight.

All in all, it's a great camera.
