Is it shameful to have a Tesco PC?
Only Tesco is knocking out quad-core Medion monsters for £579 at the moment, and it's quite tempting to go and pick one up when popping down this weekend to stock up on half-price biscuit selection boxes and Christmas puddings:

Well, you might spend three months cursing the rubbish keyboard and mouse and how much noise it makes, before the hard drive dies due to overheating in the rubbish case, or the PSU goes pop, because it's the cheapest one in the world, or the RAM packs up due to being made from mud.
And then you will have to sit on a premium rate line for half an hour before you get through to some halfwit who gets you to try the stuff you've already tried, tries to claim that you should send a component back to its manufacturer, and eventually agrees you can have your machine fixed under warranty.
Then you spend another hour and a half waiting in a queue at Tesco to take it back, dealing with another moron, getting close to violence as you find it difficult to explain that you've only had it three months and it's broken in yet another different way so they'll shut up and just fix it.
Then it doesn't come back and you've been waiting two months and have to phone more twats and complain and eventually you get it back and it's still broken in the same way.

This will crash in 2 weeks and will be useless because of the non existant bios drivers, on board video drivers and on board sound card and networkdrivers. Go to the manufacures web site to find a 404 error or make a long distance call to taiwan to a wrong number.
Try the restore cd to find out that it was not included.
After your experience you will find yourself at the Apple store out of frustration buying a macMini and joining the cult of retards.

So that would be very, VERY slowly then ..
I gave my 5 year old Dell to my old girl and whenever I have to help her with it (that would be every time she switches it on), it's like watching a sloath on valium.
Medion is a rather good brand you know. They have pretty good specs at a low price. I have a 2GHz P4 from 2002, it runs the original Windows XP it came with pre-installed. Fully updated and NEVER reinstalled and the hardware has never been exchanged. All runs like new and it has been running 24/7 like 80% of its lifetime.
My other PC is a 3GHz P4HT from Medium and it also runs rock solid. I have just about zero problems, whereas friends who build themselves or buy Packard Bell, Dell, HP, Acer, Fujitsu etc. reinstalls like once or twice per year and frequently have to exchange parts. So I'd gladly purchase my next pc from Medion.
Oh and I once had a problem with the card reader and I phoned support at 22:00 hours. They answered PROMPTLY and was able to suggest a solution right away and didn't hang up till the problem was solved. BAM. That's support.
If you love Medion that much why don't you MARRY THEM?
I bet this pc is actually alright. A stumbling block could be the motherboard or psu but to run the quoted components it cant be too shit otherwise it wouldn't even turn on.
Tesco are also good at taking stuff back. For this price you'd have to go to ebay or dodgy pc store and try sending stuff back to them.

Medion's a pretty decent German PC manufacturer. They've been making cheap but decent stuff since the 80s, and recently started to appear in the UK through shitholes like Aldi - but their products are still good.
I know a PC buff who swears by them.
Medion is to computing what shire horses are to 19th century breweries.

The beauty of this purchase really is that with Tesco you can just take it back and demand a refund - the staff are so thick they'll never know you've stripped the insides out and connected the LEDs to a 9v battery. Ace biscuits.
