£22 ASDA Durabrand XB2316 microwave in "fire risk" shock
Who would've thought that an amazingly cheap ASDA microwave might be dangerous in some way? 300,000 of these are currently sitting in the bedsits of students across the country. All have been recalled. It will be cold beans out of the tin for many tonight.

If brain dead morons think that a £25 microwave will last and perform as well as a £80 + microwave then they are too stupid to be allowed to use one. Ok it should not explode or overheat, but how do you know when it has overheated? when it starts to melt or what, we do not know the details of this aleged overheating from 3 customes after selling thousand of the things.
Were they being used in accordance with the manufacurers instructions?
Anyway the bottom line is you get what you pay for and it wont be as good as an expensive unit "FACT" and you should not complain when it beaks.

I preume, John, that you're from overseas and don't have ASDAs where you are. I can assure you they are very real. ASDA is short for "Asgard Davidson", who founded the chain.

Asda haven't done anything wrong, except recall them. A healthy cull of students and other people who buy cheap crap is just what this country needs.

I bought one of these for a friend for christmas, only to find out the selfish buggers went out and bought a better one, then when i decided to take it back i realised i couldn't find the receipt so i was gonna leave it in my garage. i'm quite chuffed they're faulty. I'm going to take it back tonight and go out for a pint hurrah
Thank you Asda for providing me with a solution to my money/microwave defecit.
As i was intending to buy a sub-standard microwave, i can now search high and low for the XB2316s around the nation. In buying as many as i can from unknowledgable students (£10-15 when drunk) i may then return "with no receipt or proof of purchase" and enjoy a tidy profit which equates to a standard microwave and change!
