APPEAL: Wealthy image fan required

BT has a staggering image archive that goes right back through the entire company's history. There is some SENSATIONAL material on there.

But, sadly, BT wants £8 EACH for hi-res downloads of the likes of these:

BT beauty beyond reach :(

Can someone spend a few hours and a few grand buying everything on it, please? Everything. Just in case. CD or hi-res download will be fine. We're cool either way.

A woman? Installing a router?

This is the sort of modern stuff you can get from BT for free. Kind of nice, but not as good at that one of the men and women from the 1970s feeling totally at ease with the idea of having phones in their houses.

WANT NEED WANT NEED NEED WANT

Please, somebody! PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF THE INTERNET! They have promotional images about SHIP TO SHORE COMMUNICATIONS for Christ's sake! We might be able to stomach paying for one a month, but that's all.

That woman isn't installing a router. She thinks it's a wireless and she's trying to figure out how to tune in to Radio 3.

BT don't make much money do they? That's why they have to charge for some dodgy old pictures. I'd phone them up and make a donation but I can never get through.

Can't you tell Shiny Media you need them or you'll quit and work for, er, anyone you haven't made hate you yet (ASDA?)

There are some brilliant pictures on there. Even the thumbnails should be used for updates.

Can't you put up a Paypal donation button and buy a new one each time you get up to £8?

They don't design them with women in mind - it could go either way round.

How come we never knew that BT had a DEATH STAR in the 1970's!!!!

xateqh: The name of Lando Calrissian's pluck copilot during the mission to blow up BT's unfinished second Death star...

Right. I'm going to buy that "1970s Death Star" photo, unless anyone has any better suggestions.

Clearly that butterfly 2Wire device is a Trades Description act waiting to happen. For one it has 4 network ports for 4 wired network devices. 2, in basic usage, it requires an ADSL phone line as well as the other two wires already staged (on close inspection of the hi-res image, one of the power wires goes to the LCD panel). 3, I don't think webuser.co.uk should be saying "This device, manufactured by 2wire, broke the mould in terms of design – it’s the only wireless broadband router we’ve tested that stands upright and proud." fnrr fnrr. (http://www.webuser.co.uk/sites/site_review.php?rev_id=2388)

nrdie - me, for writing this comment and quoting reviews, and then for thinking another possible meaing of the verification work ... but this just reinforces my first meaning.

gohtcwa - sort of gotcha when the woman catches that 2wire wireless homehub butterfly shaped device from falling off the table.

actually, the new verification word is cmyea as I screwed up typing the first one. - I'm sure theres something funny in this one but have work to do

well i gotta be honest....everything pushed out by BT is supplied by the lowest bidder. Its all shite + on top of that they ripped everyone off senseless when they had the monopoly. That bird can shove that 2wire up her arse....there. I feel better now....

As long as your £8 goes toward replacing the "last mile" with fibre-optics, I'm all in.

It's a fucking disgrace that the French have better web infrastructure than we do.

the gallery doubles up as a game!

when you click an image in the gallery, you get this short pale green bar above the images. if you keep clicking the image, the bar gets longer and longer.

the aim of the game is to get the bar as long as you can before the image changes and the bar resets.

try it, it's quite addictive and would do well for 400 points on xbox live.

i'm thinking of buying a pic but i can't decide...

I like the pic of the woman flight attendant installing the wired router. Ironic but it works.

I can't decide between these two. The Europe one ties in with the whole robot armageddon theme going on here, but the Ship-to-shore one was mentioned in the actual article.

I'm leaning towards armageddon myself.

But while typing this I've just seen one called 'Yes my typing daughter' which looks pretty sexy from here (girl on phone, towel draped over, side-arse on show) but I've a bad feeling her hairstyle's gonna ruin it. I can't be arsed printscreening it to show, so you'll either have to wait till it pops up or just take my word for it

Ok I decided to printscreen it:
