The Dell nuclear/terrorism warning notice

During periods of great boredom, one thing that's always fun to do is to spec up a PC on the Dell web site, then proceed with the order until you get to the following screen:

No, just porn

Too scared to actually go through with submitting a "yes" answer. Has anyone 'followed through' properly?

I think Dell lets you have the computer normally, but then only ships it to Asia and the middle east.

Oh for fucks sake! Can just see it now, Bin Laden wants a new laptop, sees that dialog thinks "Oh no! Sorry lads we can't buy from Dell they won't ship to n'er do wells like us!"

Oracle software downloads have something similar, "Are you going to download this software and use it in a) North Korea b) Libya c) China ?", your average government worker working for a despotic nutter is likely to go back his/her boss say "Sorry we can't download this.", not unless they want to spend the next 5 years in prison camp!

Don't know if they still do it, but in the 70's when I was a frequent visitor to the USA every time you got to the desk in passport control/immigration they would ask 2 questions - "Are you now or have you ever been a member of a Communist party?" - and - "Is it your intention to assist in the overthrow of the Government of the United States of America" - or something very similar. I never had the balls to answer "Yes" to either question, but many years later queried this with a senior american judge I met at a social gathering and was informed that "perjury to a Government Official" carried very severe jailtime, so they had got you both ways!

No, nowadays they just treat you like shit and send you to the back of the queue of 1000 people if you've gone over any of the lines on the form.

I can't recommend enough that you should resist the temptation.

Just wanted to help future generations of daredevils.

Yours truly,

Further to Jackers' comment - I love your sense of humour and will most certainly heed your sage advice & pass it on to others who might be similarly tempted! Thank God I didn't have the b*lls to try it back in the days when most states still had the death penalty!
