Gadgets with FACES #70: Something to do with electricity generation
Hopefully we have at least one reader who works/worked for a major electricity utility company and can explain what this robotic device is and does.
We'd particularly like to know what feature lies behind its nose - a feature so DEADLY it has to be locked away.

It's locked away its sinful thoughts. That never works. This is a rapist waiting to happen.
Looks like a residential substation to me. Probably guarding a step-down transformer, most likely of the electrical kind but possibly from Cybertron. Probably also contains various monitoring equipment, switches and emergency circuit breakers. Its legs look to be about 11KV in diameter. Looks as though the lock actually holds entire face on, probably enclosing a big red button which kills it, and maybe some diagnostic / configuration switches and readouts.
I think its just a body piercing accessory...
